PROJECT SUMMARY:

The project consists of a new steel framed, three-story office building that houses the administrative offices for the Tulare County Office of Education. The adjacent conference center is also steel framed and provides a venue for staff training and instructional services for the 43 school districts served by TCOE. The office portion is a “special concentric braced frame” structure while the conference center side is an “ordinary concentric braced frame” structure. There is a seismic separation joint that runs between the two structures to allow differential movement in the event of an earthquake.
